Managing Care for Your Child

When your child sees a therapist, the practice can give you portal access as their parent or guardian. You sign in with your own email and password, and everything you see — forms, appointments, billing — is about your child's care.

What you can see and do

Your practice chooses which portal areas are available to you. Depending on their settings, you may be able to:

  • Complete forms — intake paperwork and consents for your child always come to you
  • See appointments and request new sessions
  • Message your child's provider
  • View billing and pay invoices

If a section is missing from your menu, the practice hasn't enabled it for your account — reach out to them if you think you should have it.

Signing in

The flow is the same as for any client — invitation email, set a password, sign in (see Getting Started with Your Portal). Once you're in, the menu under your name shows "managing [your child's name]" so it's always clear whose information you're looking at.

More than one child at the practice? After signing in you'll be asked "Which profile would you like to manage?" — pick a child, and switch anytime from the Managed Profiles menu under your name.

Forms, appointments, and payments

  • Forms assigned for your child appear on your Documents page, exactly as described in Completing Your Intake Forms. Consents you sign are recorded in your name as the guardian.
  • Video sessions — join from the Appointments page like any client (how).
  • Billing — the Billing page shows a banner naming the child it covers. Cards you add are your cards, charged for your child's care; see Paying for Your Care.
  • The profile page edits your child's details (name, date of birth, address) — not your own. To update your own contact information, contact the practice.
