How AI Notes Work
AI-powered notes let you focus on your client while the platform handles documentation. Here's how it works.
The Process
- You record — start a recording during your session (in-person or telehealth)
- AI transcribes — audio uploads securely while you record; transcription runs right after you end the session
- AI drafts your note — using your selected template (SOAP, DAP, BIRP, etc.), the AI generates a structured progress note from the transcript
- You review and sign — edit anything that needs adjustment, then sign the note
What the AI Does Well
- Captures key clinical details from the session
- Structures content into your chosen note format
- Identifies relevant interventions, client responses, and themes
- Saves you 15-30 minutes per note
What You Should Always Review
- Clinical accuracy — the AI captures what was said, but your clinical judgment determines what's documented
- Diagnostic impressions — verify any referenced diagnoses or assessments
- Plan details — confirm follow-up plans and next session details
tip
Think of the AI as a very fast scribe, not a replacement for your clinical judgment. It drafts — you decide what stays.
Privacy & Security
- All audio is processed in a HIPAA-compliant environment
- Transcription data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Your BAA covers all AI processing
- No audio or transcript data is used to train AI models
- Optional: the De-identify Names setting (Settings → Note Preferences) replaces names with roles (e.g., "the client") in generated notes — in couple/family notes this also applies to per-member section headings, which become "Client A" / "Client B" instead of names
