Integrations & API

Practice Harbor connects to the services a practice actually runs on — calendar, payments, insurance, reminders — and moves whole records in and out. There is no app marketplace and no self-serve API key. This page says plainly what exists, what doesn't, and what to do when you need something that isn't here.

In this guide, we'll cover:

What connects today

NeedWhat to use
See sessions on your phone's calendar; keep personal events from being booked overGoogle Calendar sync
Let clients book from your own websiteThe online booking link and embeddable widget — see Online booking
Remind clients about appointments by email or textAppointment reminders
Take card payments and card-on-fileBuilt into billing — see Billing overview
Check eligibility and file insurance claims electronicallyBuilt-in clearinghouse connection — see Filing claims
Bring records over from your previous EHREHR import
Hand a client (or another provider) their complete recordData export

Each of these is set up from inside the app; none needs a developer.

Automations and Zapier

There is no Practice Harbor app on Zapier (or Make, or similar) today. If you were hoping to wire "new client → my spreadsheet" or "appointment booked → my CRM", that isn't available.

What works in the meantime:

  1. Calendar-driven automations: turn on Google Calendar sync. Your sessions appear in Google Calendar, and anything you've already connected to Google Calendar — Zapier's own Google Calendar trigger included — sees them there. Synced events use client initials only, never names, so what reaches Google is a time slot, not a record.
  2. Reports and exports: the Billing dashboard, the Income allocation report, and Clinical Hours each export CSV, for when a spreadsheet is the real goal.

If a specific automation would change how your practice runs, tell us what it is at support@practiceharbor.com — that's how we decide what to build.

API access

Practice Harbor is built on FHIR, the open healthcare data standard, and the app itself runs on that API. What we don't offer is a self-serve developer portal: there's no page where you generate an API key.

If your practice needs programmatic access — a group with its own IT, a specific system you must feed, a reporting need the exports don't cover — API access can be arranged:

  1. Email support@practiceharbor.com with what you need to read or write, and which system will use it.
  2. We set up access scoped to your practice's data only, with credentials issued to you.
  3. Your integration talks standard FHIR — anyone who has worked with a FHIR API will recognise it.

This is set up by hand, so expect a conversation rather than an instant key.

Moving your data in and out

  • In: EHR import takes the export zip from your previous system and creates clients, notes, treatment plans, and documents.
  • Out, one client at a time: Data export produces a zip of PDFs and original files, with an optional machine-readable FHIR (JSON) copy for import into another system.
  • Out, the whole practice: contact support@practiceharbor.com. Your data is yours; we'll arrange it.

FAQ

Does Practice Harbor connect to Optum, Aetna, or other payer directories for referrals? No. Insurance connectivity covers eligibility checks and claims, not payer referral directories.

Can billing data go to my accountant or a billing service automatically? Not automatically. Export the Billing dashboard or Income allocation report as CSV, or ask about API access above.

Will you build a Zapier app? It's not on the roadmap today. Requests at support@practiceharbor.com are the signal we use.
